We at GeekGirlz-r.us have accumulated many links over the years. Some are weird, some are scary, and all are wonderful! (Otherwise, they wouldn't be on this list!) Drop in, visit some, suggest some, the weirder the better, we don't care!

This is from DogToys.com. We LOVE this place. There's a CatToys.com as well.

Schnauzer Ware - more schnauzer stuff than you can shake a stick at!

mrwinkle.com - cause this is probably the weirdest one I've seen. I still think he's cute.
Dana thinks he's icky. --SJS

Weird Fonts

The Scriptorum - is a really amazing source of fonts, graphics and the like. There's a lot of really well crafted Arts and Crafts, Art Deco, Art Noveau, and antique fonts on this site. When we are rich instead of famous, one of us who shall remain nameless to protect the not-so-innocent, plans to buy every font these guys have ever made.

DaFONT- Another wild and wonderful font source - you won't be sorry you dropped in!

The Dingbats Pag - No, we aren't talking about Archie Bunker and his wife Edith, we're talking cool little goodies - tiny pictures arranged as a font - all different topics including aliens and ancient Egypt.

Weird Useful Stuff

Gaelic Insult Generarator - Ever wanted to level a curse at someone in Gaelic? Now's your chance. Suitable for football matches, drinking contests, and evictions. Provides pronunciation, English translation, and spelling. Why bother with the genarically banal "Fuck you!" when you can level such pungent gems as "May angry hedgehogs eat your ill-gotten gains!" and "Mine's bigger than yours!" at the objects of your displeasure?

The Pogues - Were an Irish punk/folk band back in the 80s that are best described as the Chieftains on crack. Bawdy, angry, obscene, irritable, and nasty are a few words that might also apply. Here's a site that lists their albums and the words to their songs. Not for the faint of heart purist unless they've first had a rabies shot. Some of the GeekGirlz have found this site to be useful for inspiration in regards to some of their more... well...ah, socially unacceptable characters.

The Penguin - Like Fleetwood Mac? This site has a huge archive of lyrics of the Mac as well as of the member's solo efforts, particularly an extensive collection of Lindsy Buckingham's works. Highly inspirational when writing Vampire/Erotica stories, or for when you're in need for poetry and Dylan Thomas and Emily Dickinson just don't do it for you...

Web Pages That Suck - The title says it all. Vincent Flanders dissects the worst sites on the web, and lets you take a crack at it. Chris Geary-Durrill appears in the credits of his latest book because she turned in at least one real stinker that got his attention...

Wigjig - A site that sells the Wigjig, a wire working tool. Full of free patterns, tips and other goodies for the dedicated wire jewelry maker.

Break-Up Songs. You know you love 'em.So do we.Besides, we sometimes use them to write those really angsty stories.Go take a look at the list if you need some inspiration!

The Great Archives - Ever wonder what your vampire name was? Don't just sit there, go find out! (One of us is "The Bitch of Crows". How'd they find out? We were so careful!)(Guess who's "Isis of The Underworld"? Or "Haunt of Bats and Shadows"?

Fire Mountain Gems - If you are a beadworker/jeweler, this is one of Satan's home addresses. Go. Visit. Believe!

Planetrubber – Get your mind out of the gutters (Yeah, yeah I know it’s ME we’re dealing with here). This site is a rubber stampers dream, and run my one of my sorority sisters so hey, why not give her a hand.

Yesterday Land – This is a great quickie site for finding out info on just about any decade in the 20th century. You want to know hair styles, clothing etc to flesh out your historical fiction this is it. And heck it’s just fun to go and look at what people thought was cool!

Indigenous – I used to hang with these guys when they were young and just getting started back in the gambling halls of Deadwood South Dakota. A family of Lakota musicians who can sing the blues to make your heart bleed. And they are just all around great guys. Check them out. Buy their music!

Am I Annoying? - This is it, the one place you can drop in and check on things to see how they rate as a annoyance. People, places and things, you name it. Hey, they even list the cast members of Angel and Buffy and how aggravating they are! You can even submit bothersome people, places and things and vote on how they are rated, who could ask for more?

Strangers in Paradise - Francine, Katchoo, and David, three friends and the people they fall in and out of love with. A great comic, if you can call that, more like a long drawn out novel - not for kids!

Find A Grave - to help you locate famous and infamous...and not so...gravesites.

Weird Costuming

The Dark Angel - There's probably no way we can afford it ourselves but it's always fun to go drool. A nice assortment of men's gear.

For those of us who can't afford to order or buy but are of the "sewing" inclination:

The Costumers Manifesto - Mainly links for fashion and costume making sites - sort of a clearinghouse. More informative than pretty and has an incredibly detailed links page for corsetry - building as well as wearing. Includes links to ethnic and international costuming. Why be a boring old genaric Goth like everybody else with a pulse and a credit card at the mall when you can be a Watusi Goth? A Javanese Goth? A Cossack Goth? A Japanese Goth? A Mongolian Goth? An East Indian Goth in a black sari with matching nose stud???

Gothic Sewing Index -Anybody can put on too much eyeliner, a cheap black corset from Vikki's Secret and six inch platforms. Why not "stand out" and wear something that's hard to duplicate??? This is a site that lists mainstream patterns that can be easily adapted to the Goth look. It also suggests recycling vintage patterns: go through your mom or grandmom's pattern boxes, Salvation Army bins, yard sales, flea markets for vintage patterns - that little go-go dress from the 60's with the puffy pink sleeves and the " indecent exposure" hemline, if rendered in black tulle, black seed beads and crushed velvet may be exactly what you're looking for! At last, a reason to tolerate Home Ec.!

Here's a startert list:

Simplicity - great Renfest costumes, Pilgrim costumes (go as a salem witch!), and some fabulous vintage undergarment patterns. Also cloaks.

Butterick - Nice stuff, except that their Renfest patterns use ZIPPERS! Some interesting men's stuff though.

Vogue - Don't be scared off by the name. Their patterns are no worse than anyone else's to follow! Plus they've revived some of their vintage 1920-1950s patterns. Imagine going to the next Goth get-together in a dress like one that Bette Davis (The Bitch Queen) once wore while shredding some hapless man to pieces with one blow of her tongue?

McCall's - What I said about Butterick. But it has a nifty Wizard's robe and pointy hat pattern to make up for the other stuff.

Weird Sources for Books

Tokyopop - a source for manga, wow! These guys have even gone so far as to print the books "backwards" in true Japanese style. So far Chris Geary-Durrill has nothing but good to say about: G.T.O., Wish, Clover, Mars, and Cowboy Bebop.

Dark Horse - Another source for manga: Blade of the Immortal, Oh! My Goddess, Lone Wolf and Cub, etc. Nice trade paperbacks with beautiful covers.

Weird Indescribables (Stuff so weird that even we couldn't figure out what the hell it was...feel free to take a shot!)

"GROW" - an addictive little game wherein you try to GROW your objects to their maximum form. Of course, the instructions are in Japanese (if there are any) but the idea behind it is pretty simple. Did I
mention addictive?

Leonard Nimoy sings "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins" - There are many scary things on the Internet. This is one of them.

The Official Berkeley Breathed Website - It's beautiful. We'd forgotten how beautiful and bizarre Berke's non-cartoon work was. Chris Geary-Durrill always liked Bill the Cat. Or worse, Billy and the Boingers. "Come on Satan, do your duty, drop you pants and shake your booty! Blaaaaaaaaattttttt, pbbbbbbbbbttttttttttttttttt!!!"

Coffin Furniture - Because you just can't get enough of that Gothic lifestyle (or maybe it's just us), you have to go visit this site. And we thought WE were morbid.

Angry Kid - You might say Angry Kid is the antiChrist, but Chris Geary-Durrill's theory is that he's the Bozo the Clown's British lovechild. Ugly, annoying, and over the top, this kid's antics would make even the staunchist Pro-Lifer reconsider his or her position on abortion. (Cassidy, despite certain, ahem, physical and mental similarities, disavows having had ANYTHING to do with the fathering of this child..."His ma's obviously a Brit. Owd Cass doesn't do that stuff!")

Lord of the Peeps - You be the judge.

Tales of the Plush Cthulu - See above...

Angry? People piss you off? Be a GOD for a day, and strike back!

Montanaro's Medieval Period - where were these guys when SharonJane was in SCA? Also a resource for Medieval and SCA stuff.

Eugene Mirman "The marvelous crooning child" Who is Eugene Mirman? A New York-based comedian whose site puts the "weird" in Weird Web. At EugeneMirman.com, you'll find a creepy-looking photo of a little boy and a list of mostly classic rock tunes. Click on a song to listen to Eugene's unique rendition of a previously sacred hit. The photo animates with each hilarious, if unnerving, serenade. Don't miss "Black Dog," "Son of a Preacher Man," and a medley of songs by The Who. Tune in and weird out!

The Pagan FishGod Priests - "We the highly motivated and intoxicated priests do good to our Beer/Fish God every year to insure good fishing during that season. Many of our tests are very strange and dangerous. 1993 early morning a group of would be fishermen encountered a large unearthly fishlike thing pearing at them from just offshore. It arose and its eyes did glow the group of beerzombie fishermen donned their hillbilly beerbox headgear for the first time and did dance about the firepit." We thought these guys were just BORN to be on our links page. Visit. Be stunned. SharonJane says: "These guys are like the SCA gone weird." You be the judge!

Evoloution Fish - I mean, what more perfect thing for us to have up at the site? *giggle*

Animated Viking...kittens? Some people just obviously don't have enough to do...

Dogs in Elk - This is a true story. It's also the most hysterical thing SJ has ever read. She was crying by the end of it. (SJ would have loved it when Chris Geary-Durrill's neighbor's blatantly neglected palamino died and left its carcass all over the place for the next five years thanks to the coyotes and its neglectful owners deciding that it was too expensive to pay someone to bury the poor thing with a backhoe but that giving all their spare income to the local chapter of NOW or some other idealistic cause was a better buy.)

Reasonably Clever - Legos. Tarot. Tarot Legos. Who'da thunk???

Mashimiro - Toilet plungers, rabbits, and bears - oh my! It's the Anti-Hello Kitty in the shape of a fat conniving rabbit. This is not your mom and dad's fluffy bunny cartoon! Hell, it ain't even your psychotic nephew Rebecca's fluffy bunny cartoon! (You know, the one who dresses a meat cleaver in doll clothes and calls it "Pooky".) Plenty of stolen sandwiches and in your face scatalogical humor to go around. If Angelus had ever drawn fluffy bunny cartoons for Dru, this would have been the end result.

Happy Tree Friends - Funny animals and homicidal yo-yos. This makes "The Itchy and Scratchy Show" look like an advertisement for interspecies harmony. Beautifully produced and uh, executed. More of Angelus' doings?

NameNerds - What to name your baby nerd. C'mon, let's scar Jr. for life!!!

TOO FUNNY. Ever want to find out what you'd have for your barbarian war cry? How about the weapon you'd wield while shouting it? Here's the place to go.

This is just too weird. It's got a LOT of soundbites so you can make prank phone calls

Get Totally Flabberghasted - Ik zag deze site, moet je even checken! (Don't blame us! Blame Liz Roth!)

The Duel - Dueling Banjos just got weirder (What must those Brits think of us???)

gunthernet.com - Firstly, no pop-ups. Secondly, make sure you go and watch the video, if
nothing else to see all the people doing the Shang-a-Lang (Sharon NOW wants The Monkees on DVD so she can drool at Davy Jones again). I'm still not sure if I'm horrified or highly, highly
amused.

Undressing Captain Jack Sparrow - Remember Pong? Think 'nekid'. Think 'nekid Capt. Jack'. Yeah, I
thought that'd get your attention.
